aboot me & ash

I’m fat. I’m going bald. I wear glasses.

People freak me out. Public restrooms freak me out. In fact, I freak out easily about many things.

Such as food suspended within food. And Post-It notes. And any kind of wrapper.

I like footnotes.(1) I like long words.(2) I’m kind of a dork.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I like novels by David Foster Wallace and Thomas Pynchon. I also enjoy reading Tom Robbins and John Green, Shakespeare and Kurt Vonnegut, Salinger and Kerouac. The Odyssey is one of my favorite books of all time.

Grammar is important to me. Punctuation is important to me. But neither is as important as word-choice and syntax.

I much prefer reading to socializing. Leaving the house sometimes causes me stress. Having anyone other than Ashley(3) in the house definitely causes me stress.

I have fibromyalgia and suspect I have Aspergers. Ashley has cystic fibrosis and had a double-lung transplant in 2007. We are medically intricate.

I love music. I play several instruments and record my own songs. I write fiction as well.

Ashley is the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. I am genuinely excited to be married to her. I have spent my life trying to find her.

She is very outgoing. She likes people. She loves gatherings.

She doesn’t read much. She watches a lot of television. Even some reality TV.

We are very different people. Yet we very rarely argue and never fight. We have more fun than any two people have a right to.

We have 10 cats. Seriously.

And a dog.

If you want to know more, read the blog. That’s the whole point of it anyway.

  1. A lot.
  2. But I’m not sesquipedalian. It’s just the way I talk.
  3. The Wife.
