dream

If you have the day off work – and even if you don’t – the best thing you can do for yourself today it to have a listen to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

And then take a bit of time to think about it. Reflect upon it.

Think about our nation’s first African-American President, being sworn in for the second time today.

And think about if you’d rather use the sincerity of Dr. King or the ironic shield of today’s internet-meme culture as you move through life.

Ask yourself if you think we’ve taken the proper steps toward Dr. King’s dream.

Consider what we need to do yet, what you have yet to do.

Then take a step or two in that direction.
